Brian Sabean is the devil and Bruce Bochy is the devils wife

Freddy “Ouch My Ankle” Sanchez will now require offseason surgery.

Ryan Garko is probably somewhere hanging out with Crisss Angel.

And several top prospects have vanished faster than Garko on a lineup card.

Alright, no more “Where is Garko”" lines. Le’s focus on the real issue: Brian Sabean and Bruce Bochy either work for the Los Angeles Dodgers or satan.

Right before the trade deadline we had all talked about getting a power hitter, a really solid guy: So we get an injury-riddled Freddy Sanchez and Ryan Garko.

Sanchez (not a power hitter when we needed a power hitter) was traded for Tim Alderson — a top pitching prospect. This guy called it from the beginning: http://mvn.com/aroundthemajors/2009/07/brian-sabean-fleeced-in-freddy-sanchez-trade.html

Brian Sabean has made some doozies–cough, A.J. Piersynski, cough–but this move is flat-out puzzling. Sabean has done an excellent job of assembling high-impact arms from the low minors up through the major league team. He deserves a ton of credit for that. However, the thought processes behind this decision were terrible and reek of desperation. Losing that many years of a cheap team-controlled Alderson, one of the best of that bunch, for a rent-a-player whose club was looking to shed salary is absolutely stunning.

“reeks of desparation” cough Barry Zito cough.

And check out what Bochy said when we got Ryan Garko:

He provides some punch for the line-up. He’ll hit fifth or sixth, somewhere in there…. It’s something we needed.

Oh really Bochy? Is that why he disappeared faster than Rockie fans if they are losing? Fifth or sixth, somewhere in there? But coach, where would we hit guys like Renteria and Frandsen?!?! Give me a break.

When Garko got traded a lot of people asked about Travis Ishikawa, well according to http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawakami/2009/07/27/sabean-bullet-points-on-the-giants-garko-trade-theyre-not-finished/

Bochy emphasized that Travis Ishikawa is still in the first-base picture and said he’d have a talk with him to make sure he understands that.

And  the following is an actual transcribed copy of the “talk” he had with Travis.

Bochy – Hey, uh, (clears throat) we need to talk.

Travis – Oh hey! Hey, yah what’s up?

Bochy – You’ve paid your dues to me for a while. I mean, I watched you grow up in the minors. But,

Travis – But?

Bochy – There’s another first baseman.

Travis – Excuse me?

Bochy – We got another first baseman today.

Travis – Have you been talking to other teams behind my back?

Bochy – Listen, it’s not you it’s me. I’m a terrible manager, really, I get so nervous in pressure situations that I call for Bob Howry when I really wanted Merkin Valdez. I’m sorry.

Travis – I can’t believe this. Excuse me, I’m going to the only place I feel comfortable.. home games -  I mean home. And when I go to sleep at night I know I gave it my best and I believed we could win, unlike some people around here. I sacrificed my life for you.

Bochy – You really want to play?

Travis – Yes Bruce, Yes.

Bochy – Alright you got the job.I’ll make sure Garko’s body gets dumped right next to Marvin Brenard and Brian Johnson.

Bochy walks away.

I hate to end on a depressing note but as I was looking up old articles I found a writer had commented on our young pitching staff:

I think we can assume that Madison Bumgarner, Buster Posey and probably Tim Alderson and Angel Villalona are on that list, with my guess being Noonan as No. 5. Just a guess. – Tim Kawakami on who the “three to five untouchables” Sabean says are in the system.

How sad is that. Literally two months later:

  • Tim Alderson got traded away days later
  • Buster Posey won’t see playing time because he hasn’t paid his dues
  • Angel Villalona freaking killed someone.

Jeez, Bumgarner is the only guy who broke through.

So chalk these two trades up along the lines of Aaron Rowand signing, Randy Winn extension and Barry Zitos contract. Sabean’s own contract is up this year. Please, tear it up.

Well you can’t blame Sabean for Villalona or however you spell his name. I still think F-Sanchez is a good move if they can bring him back next year. He’s a solid hitter and fills a big whole at 2nd base. Giants might not pick up his 8 Mil option but if they don’t it cause they might sign him for a little less but a longer contract. They won’t just let him walk after giving up Alderson for him. I hope Posey starts playing now. Molina is done as a Giant.

No, Villalona was a freak thing. But it is reported that Sabean knew about the injury and possible surgery Freddy needed before the trade. We inherited an expensive contract and could have got more in my opinion for what we had to offer. I don’t get why you get someone who is injury prone.

Sabean cannot or doesn’t know how to build a team, bottom line. Go Posey.
