4.17.10: Live Blog- Tim Lincecum for Silver Slugger Award, please

Well, today is the first day of our series vs. the Dodgers!! IS EVERYONE EXCITED?

Yes, just like the 2002 World Series, it never existed.

We have a clean slate, clean jerseys and a clean pitcher (Tim Lincecum).. well, after last night’sloss he probably isn’t that clean. BTW Tim April 20 is coming up, call me.

Today, we’ll see if the Giants can bounce back, a shirt can be given away and if FOX has any shot at even being compared with our boys at CSN.

TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF OUR SEASON!

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO ACCOMPLISH:

• FAIL – Retaliation- Hit a Dodger, any Dodger:
• FAIL - Panda get on base three times: Twice, walk and double
• BARELY FAIL- Tim strike out 8: 7 K’s
• CHECK - I’ll call a Dodger fan and cuss out him/her: Called Karl, he didn’t answer but made sure he got a voicemail.
• CHECK – Win the game:

So we are 11-15 on pre-game checklists, not bad.. we got the only one that mattered today: The Win.

LET’S PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!!!

1:04 – Just got in, TV has been turned on.. OMFG. Eric Karros? Are we serious here.. And Chris Rose? I am having Best Damn flashbacks.. uhhhh

1:14 – Hey someone patient leading off? And he has “speed”… Bochy has really done it this time.

1:17 – Oh look, the entire 2nd half of rows, about 20, are completely empty. LA being LA.

1:19 – Nobody out, top of the first and a passed ball so what does our “speedy” lead man do? He tries to take 3rd and home. Granted it was a great slide and he was safe, he was dead to begin with. Dumb move and a rally killer for sure.

1:24 – I forgot Rowand got his face melted yesterday by Padilla — hence Velez playing.. He got closer than Rowand ever could in the first, so I guess congratulations.. Giants  blow a huge opportunity, score zero. Enter Tim Lincecum

1:31 – I like the walk to Ethier. I’m OK with this….

1:33 – See told you. Lincecum 2 ks, Giants offense still confused. End of one inning, 0-0.

1:37 – Bengie is hitting four-something, he is angry because no one wanted him this offseason.. It’s sad that players have to find motivation like that to play well, but keep on using it Big Money.

1:39 – Have I mentioned that I love knuckleball pitchers, they have no control.. just like me last night. (I may or may not have put a few holes in some walls.. I can’t remember)

1:42 – Second time, no one out and it should have been a double play. We are not going to keep winning like this, we simply are not.

1:47 – Renteria then strikes out and is 0-for his last what? Yeah, the world isn’t ending, Renteria does suck and Pablo is hitting well again. Life is back to normal.

1:49 – Two out, bases loaded, full count vs. the Dodgers with Pablo at the plate.. This is what baseball is all about.

1:50 – Pablo strikes out.

1:55 – I’m still rewinding and watching Pablo’s at-bat, I just don’t get it.

1:59 – Chris Rose just said “A couple of great managers going at it.” I wish I had AM radio

2:02 – Derosa just slid like I did when I was in little league.. I got laughed out of the ballpark and stopped playing the game. Is it bad that I am actually happy about this?

2:07 – First two innings, Giants don’t cash in on bases loaded chances; fast-forward to Tim hitting a 2-RBI single.. He has three RBI total. What?

2:08 – **KARMA ALERT.. KARMA ALERT** Fred Lewis gets traded and on back-to-back days Rowand and Derosa get hurt. Not saying FLew is a stud, but Torres is definitely a dud.

2:17 – FREE SHIRT ALERT: 7 out of the 10 who guessed are still alive to win a free shirt, and the latest entry xJoshuax has it right on at 5-0!

2:25 – YES! Interview with Bochy.

2:27 – THE HIGHLIGHTS:

Well they (Huff and Derosa) are both professional players – Bochy

That’s Hubie Brown status right there. He then says “We are a free-swinging club” meaning he recognizes and is almost proud of the fact. He’s the reason we strike out and don’t walk ever not our hitting coach who was fired.

2:34 – Giants up 7-0, NO ONE will win a free shirt as no one guessed higher than 6 runs. Well, we tried..

2:43 -Tim freaking Lincecum

2:46  – Tim now has more hits at the plate than he has given up.

2:48 – Eric Karros is a complete moron. After the crazy weird play where Anderson dropped the ball, Dodgers threw to third and Tim is out, then to second then to first where Renteria was standing at first place. Karros then says “They almost got a triple play with Renteria barely making it at first.” Rent was standing on the base. Karros you’re an idiot.

2:50 – I am so confused at what we just witnessed.

3:02 – Ump sucking up face time by taking 4 seconds to call a strike every time.. Whatever works.

3:04 – Six Ks for Timmy:

3:08 – Just called a Dodger fan to knock that off the list, he didn’t answer but trust me I said things I wouldn’t dare repeat on here. Just think, we have a seven-run lead with Tim on the mound. Use your imagination.

3:23 – Not a lot to report, just watching this live blog cruise to a 3-0 record?

3:34 – Eric Karros just said Tim Lincecum is “up there” in regards to the best pitcher in baseball. Who else is up there, buddy? Jason Schmidt?

3:38 – Bochy are you serious? You let Tim hit, then put in Mota the next inning? How do you screw up in a 9-0 game.

3:53 – The park looks empty, just like it should. Giants up 9-0 and no Dodger fan is talking right now. Life is good.

4:09 – Medders is in and Bochy has finally made a great move. Get the guy some freaking work, holy crap.

4:15 – Medders has runners on the corners.. o m g.

4:17 – GAME OVER, Giants win 9-0.
