LIVE-BLOG – Ubaldo is good

First off, let’s all take a moment of silence to thank and honor those who have fallen and served under any military service for the safety of the masses. You are the bravest people in the world.

*******

Now onto the game. Finally, this is what I’ve been waiting for all season long: The possibility of the game ending with zero total hits. Two perfect games, if this happens after nine innings I fully expect the ump to call the game and just go home.

Nevermind the fact that Tim has been struggling more than Todd Wellemeyer lately, or that our offense has the personality of Jim Carey in “Me, Myself and Irene”.

This has nothing to do with the current game or any previous ones but it’s always fun to blame old players that we sign that haven’t even played a game yet.

Anyway, let’s focus on the real issue here: Ubaldo cannot walk into our park and steal the thunder from our Cy Young winner. That just can’t happen, and we WON’T LET IT HAPPEN… right? …Right?

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO ACCOMPLISH:

  • FAIL – Rowand get a single hit.. just one:
  • FAIL – The Giants try to bunt for a hit:
  • FAIL – Hit a Rockies player — intentional or unintentional:
  • FAIL – Show Torres’ walk-off single yesterday:
  • FAIL - Giants win:

LET’S PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!!!

11:43 – FireSabean support strong at the game. @daveweisgerber

1:04 – Pretty cool tribute to start off Memorial Day. Now it’s time for some Timmy Ball!

1:08 – Aubrey Huff looking like Velez out there in left — only he ends up making the catch.

1:11 – Over/Under on how many 1-2-3 innings there will be is set at 19….

1:15 – Torres – Strikeout; Sanchez – Strikeout; Pablo – base hit.. There goes my two perfect games theory.

1:19 – Pablo gets thrown out stealing second base. Bruce Bochy called for a hit-and-run on an 0-2 count against a guy who can throw 100 mph and has 300,000 strikeouts this year. Really? Really? Wow.

1:23 – Really?

1:27 – Tim starting to walk people again, (two in a row) that’s OK, if it’s the Tim of old he’s just setting things up for a triple play.

1:31 – Two down, runners on first and third, seeing Posey give the ball to Lincecum after an out is something I used to dream of.

1:35 – Barmes hits a single up the middle, two runs score — 2-0. Giants baseball – It’s insurmountable inside.

1:41 – Runner on second, down 2-0 Uribe strikes out on an unhittable pitch. NOW IT’S POSEY TIME!!!!!!!!

1:46 – Posey strikes out but that’s OK because IT’S BENGIE TIME!!!!!!!!! Uhhhh that doesn’t have the same ring to it.

1:47 – Molina grounds out to short. OK then. Molina looks mentally tired and checked out. He’s the only Giant to try and NOT work the count. Good thing he’ll be our catcher all year..

1:55 – Drey is not impressed by this Giants offense.

1:59 – Rowand strikes out again which is a perfect transition into our TWEET OF THE GAME:

Somebody, please, give me one good reason to play Rowand, ever. And don’t mention his contract. – @Gorneaux

It’s not funny, witty or clever. It’s just the truth and my answer: It’s ONLY about the contract, had we paid him $2 million or less like Nate or Downs then when they struggle we can bench them and it’s just because they suck. But when Rowand struggles we play him even more. It’s the Sabean way.

2:04 – Tim threw to Posey at first better than he did to Molina — is that a sign?

2:08 – No damage done on another highly stressful inning. I guess that’s good right? BRB, having a heart attack and contemplating why I’m a Giants fan.

2:19 – Oh wait there’s a live blog still going on? Sorry I was too busy staring out the window wondering what it’s like to have a team that is fun to watch.

2:23-  On a side note, Dontrelle Willis was DFA’d, meaning we have the chance to sign him. He’s got some anxiety disorder and is Livan Hernandez-crazy, but hey, he sure beats Todd Wellemeyer.

2:26 – Here’s another suggestion for our new motto:

2:30 – Timmy could barely locate on that intentional walk, times are tough he’s got over 100 pitches through four innings.

2:36 – Rowand strikes out? WOW! See 1:59 p.m. if you’re confused.

2:38 – Yan has guessed 4-0 Rockies in the free T-shirt contest, can we finally have a winner?

2:43 – Dave Flemming’s kids were just shown being goofy on TV. Kind of takes me back to when I just wanted the Giants to win or lose, nothing else mattered. Now, well, growing up sucks.

2:46 – Bochy just pulled Rowand and Timmy at the same time. I – I don’t know what to do or how to feel. Bruce, thank you? THANK YOU!

2:53 – Giants down 4-0. Is anyone even following this blog anymore — let alone watching the game?

3:00 – Memorial Day Tribute and Flemming’s kids are the only positive things I can take from this game.

3:05 – God Bless America, and God help these Giants

3:13 – NEW TWEET OF THE GAME:

That “God Bless America” sounded like a South Park parody.- Damon Bruce

3:18 – Bengie Molina couldn’t even make it to second on that throw. Good thing he’ll be here all year.

3:23 – Molina hits one to the center-field warning track. I have a feeling Bochy will use that as an excuse to keep playing him. “Well he had a positive AB in the 8th, he hit it hard.. that’s good.. He’ll start forever.”

3:33 – OK I’ll admit I was watching some of the Jersey Shore marathon, if you’re still following your name has to be Yan, because YOU MIGHT WIN A FREE SHIRT! Other than that, go barbecue and have fun. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

3:37 – OK guys, sorry we didn’t have more fun today. We’ll get ‘em next time. Thanks for following along and I’ll see ya at the POST-GAME!! !

3:38 – OK, maybe I reverse jinxed the Giants, Pablo with the double.

3:42 – Huff with the walk! First and second, two outs.. Looks like I may go back to the “It’s Torture Inside” motto.

3:44 – GAME OVER

4-0 GIANTS LOSE.

The should let Timmy skip a start so he can take a breather and figure out what’s wrong.
