BP/ROY.. Let The Campaign Begin
Things have been getting pretty negative around here. My anger shouldn’t be directed at neither Schulman nor that four year old I shoved down on the sidewalk last week.
I took a yoga class yesterday and found out how to center my chi. I also kept checking my phone and saw Buster Posey had two more RBI. Then it hit me. IT”S TIME FOR THE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR CAMPAIGN!
We have turned Firesabean.com into the BPROY campaign headquarters.
Compared to the rookie sensation Jason Heyward, if Posey stays on this pace for 35 more games this would be his stats compared with Jasons.
- BP – .325, 14 HR, 50 RBI, 44 runs
- JH – .251, 11 HR, 45 RBI, 41 runs
We all know Posey is going to annihilate Jason in the 2nd half, so we turn our focus to Stephen Strasburg. This is where things will get a little tough. It’s hard to compare a catcher to a pitcher — especially when the pitcher makes ESPN.com every time he sneezes.
And this is where the fan page and “blogosphere” chatter comes in. Believe it or not the fans have a bigger voice now than ever before. These mindless rants and campaigns sometimes do make a difference: See Betty White on SNL
So join the fan page and post on the wall, use the hash tag #BPROY on Twitter and just write about it in blogs.
We, as Giants fans, know he is better than Strasburg and any other rookie out there. But the rest of the country doesn’t.. yet. So let’s do something positive on this site and make Buster Posey the Rookie Of The Year!!!
