Corey Hart And All-Star Don’t Fit

There’s a lot of drama going on with this guy right now. And by drama I mean people freaking out over his home run derby extravaganza. And by people I mean Twitter.

He was raking balls, he looked like his numbers in the first half, he even made his Teen Wolf beard look cool.

But the guy throwing to him was like 70 years old. For anyone who still wants him or feels any inclination to get Corey Hart, just do yourself a favor and become a Brewers fan… Or Braves — which is where he’ll probably end up.

No one was really talking when he put up a whopping zero home runs later in the derby — sure he sat for an hour and a half — but does that give you any right to not hit a single ball over the green fence?

I know I was tweeting like a madman. Derby aside, let’s look at his All-Star Game performance itself..

Oh, 0-for-2 with two strikeouts? Must be because he sat for 22 hours. We all know he is hitting above his averages, but he is actually in just his fourth “full” season. His overall numbers are pretty good and his inflated numbers this year are downright sexy.

I’d go into the fangraphs and charts and statistics and blah blah blah, but Hart doesn’t need them. All signs point to him not sustaining these numbers and if he does go on to have an amazing career I will never cuss out Sabean for passing on him.

Not for Madison Bumgarner. Not for Jonathan Sanchez. Imagine losing one of those two out of our rotation and welcoming back Todd Wellemeyer. We’ll lose more than we’ll win with him even though he starts one every five days and Hart plays just about every day. But that’s just my opinion.

Somehow.. someway… Sabean knows there is better out there.

On a side note, I hope the reason Rowand played a little more the final few weeks was to “showcase” his talent, because if Sabes can deal Rowand somehow I will seriously consider taking down this site.

We all know that won’t happen and Corey Hart won’t either. So let’s focus on someone more Godly.

DeJesus anyone?

I think if the Giants trade for Hart it will be a HUGE mistake! We need someone like Adam Dunn. If the Giants really want another OF, they should seriously look into a package deal for Dunn and Willingham!

You’re a fool. If the giants trade sanchez for hart, then yes, that would be a mistake. However, if we get Hart for cheap (EX. Bower and Torres) then that’s a hell of a deal. I’d deal Madbum for Hart but I’m not a GM. Adam Dunn, that dude sucks balls, I wouldn’t give up more than a couple of baseballs for him. Adding any OF is a mistake b/c Nate will never see the field, which isn’t right. We haven’t had a true lineup with power since ’03, I’ll take anyone at this point. Sabes has a log jam everywhere, if we make a deal it will be for someone no one has been talking about.

Hart is a stud and if the Padres acquire him, we can kiss the division goodbye. Sabean will make a deal, don’t worry guys. Now if we get a guy like Adam Dunn or DeJesus I will be pissed.

A guy I would love to get is BJ Upton.

What do you think about us acquiring Alfonso Soriano. champ? He would be nice in Left and we could platoon him late in the game with Nate.
