Velez Released Soon; Guess The ‘Giants Mix’
Ryan Rohlinger was called out, but it’s the thought that counts.
UPDATE 12:17 pm: Oh OK cool he’ll make game time tomorrow. The ball hit him above his left ear.. dang.
UPDATE: 11:51 am – I flipped a coin and Velez will be released today.
10:50 am - Well crap, Baggs says Velez may get released today, why can’t these guys correlate first.
9:37 am - My new good friend Amy G reports that:
Eugenio Velez is doing well this morning and currently in the process of being released from St. Joe’s Hospital.
Great news, awesome to see he is doing much better. Earlier Bruce Bochy said he was fine “but not real responsive.”
Bochy I don’t know about you, but I base my judgment on “fine” by how responsive someone is. Sorry he can’t be like Gamer Rowand and brush off a Padilla fastball to the skull. The guy is like 100 pounds..
Anyway, glad to hear Velez doesn’t have a skull fracture and I hope he recovers quickly. Also, I hope he actually
becomes responsive…
Ryan Rohlinger was pulled from his AAA game yesterday so I’ll go ahead and connect the difficult dots and say that Rohlinger is the guy being called up. I know, I know, we take chances here at Firesabean…
Rohlinger is hitting .308/.412/.484, five home runs, 27 RBI in 188 plate appearance in Fresno. As a Giant he has 14 at-bats — which really is like having zero. So we’ll go ahead and say he’ll be horrible because as Sabean says, “There’s really no good pitching in AAA”.
Also of note, Hank Schulman started an article this morning saying,
The standard “win mix” of music filled the Giants’ clubhouse after Saturday night’s 10-4 victory, which was a good thing.
This begs me to ask, what exactly they listen to? Is it like a compilation of everyone’s favorites? If so, can you imagine what it sounds like?
- Aaron Rowand: Nickelback – Photograph
- Tim Lincecum: Sublime – Badfish
- Eli Whiteside: N’Sync – Bye Bye Bye
- Buster Posey: Beethoven’s Fifth
- Aubrey Huff : 2Pac – California Love
- Brian Wilson: Slipknot – Wait And Bleed
- Nate Schierholtz – Annie Lennox – Walking On Broken Glass
- Pablo Sandoval: Shakira – Hips Don’t Lie
- Juan Uribe: Miles Davis – Human Nature
- Edgar Renteria: The 1928 smash hit “My Blackbirds Are Bluebirds Now”
Any other suggestions?

What would Sandoval, Uribe and Renteria listen to?
