I Am Breaking My Vow Of Silence
OK, I promised not to write anymore about these trade deadline rumors until something actually happens. Plus I’m trying to take on a new personality — an upbeat excited homer who is blinded by the idiocy known as our front office.
BUT JOSE GUILLEN?
Forget the Garko and Hillenbrand debacles that happened during the deadline, this would be the Barry Zito of trade screw-ups.
I am actually writing this in hopes I can persuade our God known as Sabean to jump off the ship — I know he’s a regular reader.
OK, so we had a deal with Dejesus involving some young talented prospects who will forever be unnamed.. Fine. But Jose Guillen? If you are giving up Darren Ford and Nate Schierholtz than I can live with it. My very close friend Grant from McCovey Chronicles put it best:
Guillen has pretty good raw power, but his approach is a little lacking. He’s prone to striking out, and he doesn’t work the count especially well. At his peak, he was able to hit enough line drives to keep his average up – but that hasn’t been the case for three years now, and he isn’t getting younger. As a fielder, he’s a fine DH. His arm is strong, but his range is lacking.
Isn’t Guillen’s contract up this year also — something Sabean said he wouldn’t pursue. Oh dear God did I just admit I listened and believed Sabean? To calm down I am turning on some Justin Timberlake……..
Now let’s just move on and settle for a decent bullpen arm and a mediocre bat for some prospects. I think we’re done here.

Not only is this guy flawed, but he also is a malcontent who could disrupt team chemistry.

Garko and Hillenbrand couldnt hold Jose Guillens jock strap…so dont go comparing the 3. The barry zito of trade screw ups??
16/60 .271/.332/.459……why not add that to our lineup for cheap? unless you wanna lose sanchez or bum for dunn or fielder.
strike out prone? his career high 118…he’s not mark reynolds.
but hey, nice worthless article!

I’d rather stand put with the Outfielders we got than get Jose Guillen.

Oh hey it’s my good friend Shane afraid to post under this old troll alias.. welcome back!
If we give up a garbage for him, obviously it’s a great trade
Guillen is 48 years old first of all, secondly, it all depends on who we give up..

Guillen could be had for Emmanuel Burris. FS doesn’t have a damn clue what he’s talking about, as per usual.
But hey, he’s still probably mad we gave up Bengie for a solid bullpen arm and a pitcher who has a #3 ceiling. What a total dicknozzle.

affraid? I dont think so lil bitch. What I cant rep will the thrill?
Guillen is 34…dont be like a little kid and exaggerate. Even Sabean isnt stupid enough to give up the farm for him.

Thrill- NO. You aren’t allowed to respect any Giants on here. You must criticize every move Sabean makes, fail to mention the good and act like a whiny son of a bitch to fit in around here.
FS still hasn’t had a logical rebuttal to any of my points. His “fans” are doing a better job than him.
