Minor Leaguer Darren Ford Arrested

The San Francisco Giants minor leaguers are turning into the Oakland Raiders.

Top prospect Darren Ford, currently playing on the AA Richmond Flying Squirrels, turned himself in and was charged with making false reports to law enforcement officers, obstruction of administration of law, conspiracy, and theft by failure to make proper disposition of property received, the Press Of Atlantic City reports.

In November, Ford told police he was carrying a bank deposit bag from RK Chevrolet when he stopped at a state Motor Vehicle office before going to the bank. Then, a gunman pointed a double-barreled shotgun at him and demanded he turn over his belongings.

Yeah, so that was a lie. Eight months later his conscious caught up with him.

And guess what, he stole $300. Three hundred freaking dollars. He was released the same day he turned himself in.

Ford is hitting .236 with four home runs and 26 RBI  and 26 stolen bases this season. He won the Harry S. Jordan award this spring given annually to the top Giants player in his first major-league spring training camp.

He’s not the only prospect to get into legal trouble.

Top 50 prospect Angel Villalona’s was much more serious, he was arrested in late 2009 on murder charges. He was part of the Single A San Jose squad.

At this rate, it looks like Thomas Neal will be arrested for drug trafficking and stealing from a candy store. Well, at least we still have Buster!

His story sounded fishy from the moment he told it last year. It doesn’t sound like he is in that much trouble legally so maybe now he can start to hit since his conscience is clear.

Is this Corey Hart-J. Sanchez trade rumor making anybody else sick?

This is the most preposterous idea of the last 25 years. Corey Hart is a caeer mediocrity having a good year. This is a no brainer. No, Brian!

I’m with you D, hopefully Sabean checks the fan forums and realizes that Hart is completely overrated. What happened to buy low, sell high? There better not be truth behind this because Sanchez is 10000 times more valuable than hart
