POSEY POSEY POSEY POSEY POSEY

Now before we get to our headline, is this how you pictured the West? If you say yes then please e-mail me because I hear the California lottery is pretty high right now.

Now to the headline: I hate to beat a dead horse but I don’t think it’s dead yet. JOIN THE POSEY ROY FAN CLUB.

Since his 18-game hitting streak has started…

  • The Giants are 14-4
  • He’s hitting .472/.506/.819 for an .OPS of 1.326
  • He had six home runs, 22 RBI and a babip of .475
  • He’s walked on water
  • THE GIANTS ARE 14-4

If you can’t make it out he says “I ain’t having it.”

There is no other way to describe Posey besides in bullet points and that .GIF. Oh, and the Giants are 14-4. Somehow, S.F. is still three games behind the freaking Padres but we won’t worry about that right now.

Also in that stretch, the Giants pitching has shut out their opponents three times (all with Posey catching).

So I’ll go ahead and just lay the stats out for you and you can decide whether or not there is a correlation between us suddenly dominating the National League since Posey was named starting catcher. BTW, the Giants record is 15-6 since the Bengie trade.

We still have a long way to go to even make the playoffs, but can you imagine where we’d be without this guy? AND THIS IS HIS SECOND FULL MONTH IN THE MAJORS!

OK, I’m getting way too excited and credit needs to be given to the Huffs and starting pitching and the Torres of the team, but Posey… really?

He shoulda been up a long time ago and for that I hate you front office, but he’s here now so the horse will continue to get beat.

GIANTS keep on winning because I haven’t had this much fun watching baseball since.. well… the year that never happened.

NOTE: Danny Aller wrote a decent article about Molina’s exit and got some good quotes including this one by Molina:

It was very tough because I felt like I wasn’t appreciated for the three good years that I had. I felt like they just wanted to get me out of there for (Buster) to start playing. It was a little bit uncomfortable.

I think he should have known that was the case when he re-signed…

Fantastic job here once again! Posey is the prodigal son! And how did you make that “History of Blown Calls” thing? 15 out of 10 possible points for greatest there. I love how Posey’s numbers in the majors look just as ridiculous as his metal bat college days numbers that were said to be “inflated” but Posey once again says “I aint having that”

Just some photoshopping, thanks for the props!
Seriously, we all know he has to slow down.. well we all think he has to slow down but who knows..

It’s already proven the guy can hit.. Unreal

    3. I agree he has been the complete difference and the reason we are contending.

The thing about Posey slowing down is that he is no longer the only Giant who can hit. Sandoval has to get hot at some point, seriously he does, Ishikawa is looking good, Uribe hopefully will snap out of his funk, and Huff is Huff. So even if Posey does tail off like the odds say he should. We should be OK offensively. He already had a little min-slump right before the Molina trade anyway.
