POST-GAME: Show Me Your Jazz Hands

Something happened in the bottom of the 8th. The place was packed, the mystique was in the air and UUUU-RIBE chants rang throughout the stadium.

It was a 3-3 game, no one out and the count 1-2, both teams are trying to find their identity for a playoff push with August on the doorstep. And then..

“HITS ONE HIGH… HITS ONE DEEP… OUTTA HERE!!!”

Juan Uribe on cue located a pitch right over the 400-foot marker in left-center field. The 38,000 had never been louder.

Something happened that made me believe, we might have a chance.

And then Edgar Renteria not only hit a bomb to left, but flipped his bat in pay-back for the cocky bat flip of Cody Ross earlier in the game.

We’ll jump past the Brian Wilson shoes and slider that my dad could have thrown better and he’s 74 .. Because this team showed the gut and will of a champion. Andres Torres the MVP, Buster still streaking and the old guard lookin’ young.

I don’t want to ruin this night with any more words.. Great game, great match-up, I’m a believer.

NOW LET’S GO GET THAT MEDIOCRE BULLPEN ARM!

AND HAPPY KRUK AND KUIP DAY!

UUUUUUUUUUUUU-RIBE!!!!! An unsubstantiated report claims that Edgar Renteria’s bat flip was aimed at Fire-Sabian.com. “Take that, last night’s post game thread” Renteria exclaimed as he rounded the bases.
It was nice to see Renteria the finally get the barrel on the ball. Happy Kruk and Kuip day. Great win.

Haha so sad. Little FS troll is now a believer. Typical troll concern fan trying to get attention. Pessimistic in your views of the franchise so in case the Giants stink, you can be the “I told you so” guy. But when the Giants win, you’re now the #1 fan. Unbelievable.

Let me guess you’re still mad that

Sabean had the best FA signing of the year.

Sabean has managed to grow and develop 3 absolute studs(Bum,Tim,Buster) through the farm. A criticism of the past.

Still mad that Bochy showed his genius last Tuesday to win the game for us in the land of evil.

And deep down probably MAD that the team is doing well. Proving to knee-jerk attention whores like yourself that Sabean is indeed competent and does his job very well when given the chance.

Yeah I know, Zito and Rowand, waaaaahh waaaaaah

Show me a G.M. who hasn’t made big mistakes in FA. They all have.

      What a douchebag you are.

      PRO-SABEAN FTW!

    6. First, let me stop you from looking like a complete idiot. At the end of the article it says, “words used in this post may or may not directly represent the beliefs of the writer.”

Obviously that post was exaggerating and the fact is we haven’t hit the trade deadline. It’s a 162-game season and teams will go on dry and hot spells.

And I’m not forcing you to this site, so the fact that you got so angry to make a post like that proves that you are really that big of a loser or I am that powerful of a writer.. Either way it’s funny.

I’m not going to go into the Sabean best FA of the year BS because I’ve been over that 100 times and Sabean didn’t draft ya boys Timmy, Buster and Bum and only brought Bum up after two terrible pitchers tried.

Thank you for your response, but your anger is displaced and would be much more appropriate at whatever family member you are obviously angry about.

CONCLUSION: I’m a Giants fan at heart and have said I’d love for Sabean to prove me wrong and have us win a title… But it’s extremely unlikely. This post was not as serious as you may think it is and go out and fly a kite because you are way too angry.

PS: When you say “Sabean finally given a chance” are you saying the past 13 years before he was never given a chance?

And yes, I do generally believe that Magowan hand-cuffed Sabean with the minor leagues all those years with the “win now Bonds” theme going on

Now that Bow-Tie has given him the bonus money to sign his draft picks, we are seeing the influx of youth on the squad.

No one’s denying he made big mistakes, he’d be the first to admit it. And yeah maybe his PR skills still need work, but he does a lot more good than he’s given credit for.

Sabean is the worst GM in the league. I could go over and over all the trades and signings that has made him the undisputed champion, but i think this site does a fair job of that already. If you want to start up GiveSabeanAnotherExtension.com please provide some proof that he is crazy like a fox, instead of the David Kahn of Major League Baseball. Kaaaaaahn!!!!!!! (sorry, I had to do that) And its not just a few disgruntled Giants fans that believe Sabean is the worst GM, in a poll done by Buster Olney earlier this year, Sabean was voted as the worst by a panel of his peers. One GM even stated that he refuses to even call Sabean and instead goes straight to assistant Bobby Evans. I am a Giants fan, I watch every game, and I root for a Giant victory. Nothing would make me happier than to see the Giants win the world series, but if they do, even objective observers can see it will be in spite of Brian Sabean.

No, he’s not the worst GM in the league. Omar Minaya holds that claim.

Have you seen the other bad contracts out there? Zito’s doesn’t look too bad these days.

But once again Eric the troll gets to jump on the bandwagon when SABEAN has built a competitive team.

When has Eric given him credit for drafting Timmy, Bum, and Posey? NEVER.

When has Eric give him credit for Huff? Oh wait, Sabean doesn’t get credit for that one because he contacted Laroche and Johnson first. Even though if Eric were GM he would have stuck with Ishikawa and not touched Huff with a 10 foot pole.

Uribe for 3 million? No credit.

Finding a talent like Brian Wilson in the 28th round of the draft? No credit.

Jonathan Sanchez in the 23rd? No credit.

Look smithy boy, if you really want to compare Sabean’s contracts with the other GM’S around the league I’m happy to do that. Sabean is going to look a lot better in your eyes.

And Hey! The Giants are in the WC LEAD.

But sabean deserves none of that credit, none at all.

I love the Giants and I like nothing more than watching and discussing Giants baseball while wearing orange tinted glasses. I am a homer, and if Sabean trades Lincecum for Scott Podsednik or gives Mark DeRosa an extention after team doctors decide that there only course of action is to cut off his hand to save the wrist, I will still root for this team in hopes that they win a world series. I love that right now the Giants are in the hunt for a division title, but looking objecively at Sabean’s body of work, can you honestly say he is the one that has put the Giants in this position?

YES. No other GM wanted to draft timmy due to his size. He did.

He has built an incredible pitching staff, the only bad move being Zito, but even he is getting back to the #3 pitcher we thought he would be.

How many GM’s can say they hit on talent in the draft 3 years in a row like Timmy, Bum, and Posey? Not many.

Huff was a great low-risk high reward move after Laroche and Johnson didn’t want to come.

      Uribe was a great find.

Andres Torres is going to lead the league in WAR, another great find.

he has made his mistakes, just like every other GM. he’s certainly not the #1 guy in the league, but with the pitching he has built there is no way he is the worst.

And as for the Zito signing, I thought it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that it was Magowan’s fuck-up, not Sabean’s. Sabean hinted as much on a radio interview in 2008.

I don’t see any credit for the good he has done on this site. it’s unbelievable.

No response? Typical. Proven wrong again, you called the Huff signing a “d”.

      So sad.

English, motherfucker. Do you speak it?

I find it funny you complain about me not answering Q’s but when I do the same, it’s “I’m cooking dinner with my GF, Keith Law”.

      Hilarious.
