POST: Our Players Are Good Sometimes
It was like a nuclear bomb blew up in San Francisco. Faces melted, hearts crushed.. Phil Cuzzi did it again.
Blown call or not, the Giants had to play and play well against the Dodgers — in the 2nd inning they had the bases loaded with no one out. I’ll give you two guesses as to how this one ended.
Nope, not a triple play but they did manage to score zero runs. Here we go again. The next inning Torres gets a lead-off double and again back-to-back outs..
Oh wait, we have Buster Posey, don’t we?
He singled home Torres and scored from first on a Panda double.. Man that slow catcher sure can run decent.
Then Schierholtz hit a two-run homer.. Then we turned double plays, shut down hitters and looked like a playoff team. A PLAYOFF TEAM!
Not to mention Madison Bumgarner — who did great in his short run last year — continues to act as a top prosepct. Who woulda
thought two top prospects could excel in the big leagues?
But Pablo made a mental mistake… again.. and threw to home not first — the runner was safe but the ump blew the call and the run counted. Yup, two days in a row. Still, Pablo needs to stop doing stuff like this or I will put my Panda hat on Ebay.
So for the record, J. Sanchez threw a perfect game last year, the Kings were literally cheated out of a Finals appearance and the Giants should be undefeated in the second half of the season. But, all we can do is whine about it, let’s focus on something more positive.
SWEEP LA… SWEEP LA…
