What Did I Just Watch?
Fire Sabean, Fire Bochy, Fir- wait, wait, the Giants won?
Despite Bochy sending up a position player instead of the pitcher with the bases loaded in a 1-1 game to bunt only to have him pop out to the catcher, the San Francisco Giants were able to break away and take a huge game, 6-1.
Coming off the 15-inning fiasco, it looked like the Brewers would run trains, planes and automobiles all over San Francisco., but Jonathan Sanchez threw a Jekyll’n'Hyde gem to his future team and thanks to an Alcides Escobar error, the Giants ran away with one.
Oh yeah, and our All-Star Shaft Job Aubrey Huff was absurd like usual.
Huff’s power numbers are off the charts (in Giants terms) and pretty good everywhere else. He’s our number three hitter and he seems like the only who still brings his bat to the games. (Sanchez’s RBI was an infield error, he then scored on a passed ball and Pablo’s RBI doesn’t count because of his slump).
Oh, you can’t forget Posey going all WWE and playing possum before hitting an oppo-field bomb the next pitch.
In the seventh, Escobar failed to turn a double play, or actually failed to turn, with one out and the bases loaded which led to a huge four runs for the Giants.
But as Bip Roberts says, we outscored our opponents and that is the key to a victory!
So many kinks to work out, so many “WTF” moments, so much terrible baseball, but for some reason a win against the Brewers seems extra special. Maybe because we’re supposedly targeting their entire franchise.. Maybe because I’m still bitter because of the choreographed crapfest last year, maybe just because we haven’t won in like 4 months.
Either way, it’s now time for some codeine syrup and hardcore VHS-watching. Man, what a day!

Posey is awesome! Seems a lot more relaxed since Bengie got dealt. That’s 2 opposite field jacks he’s hit. Plus he moves well behind the plate and has a HOSE of an arm. That just raises the question: why wasn’t he playing earlier?

Hey, we started the second half of the season with a win! BTW, I got my shirt on Saturday Thanks! I wore it while the Giants somehow broke their losing streak and won 11-8. I wanted to put it on again Sunday after they lost that crap game in the 15th though!

Greg, don’t wash that shirt if it means the Giants can actually win!
